WCD to Recognize 2024 Honorees at Visionary Awards

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – August 15, 2024 – On September 30th, Women Corporate Directors will host its 13th annual Visionary Awards Celebration honoring Moncler Group, Amalgamated Bank, Sabin Group, and Wendy Kei at KPMG Lakehouse in Orlando.

Gathering board directors, c-suite executives, and global business leaders, the 2024 Visionary Awards recognizes companies and individuals who display an exceptional corporate commitment to diversity, inclusion, and women’s leadership in the boardroom. The event occurs during WCD’s two-day conference, the Global Institute.

Amalgamated Bank, a financial institution founded in 1923, will receive the Visionary Award for ESG Leadership.

“I am honored to receive this award. It underscores the importance of diverse leadership and inclusive decision-making in the boardroom,” said Priscilla Sims Brown of Amalgamated Bank. “Amalgamated Bank was founded by women who were determined to get a seat at the table over 100 years ago. Continuing to empower women and drive gender equity is essential to the work we do and my personal passion.”

Sabin Group, a healthcare provider founded in 1984, will receive the Leadership and Governance of a Private Company award.

“WCD recognition is an honor for the Sabin Group, especially at this moment, as we complete 40 years of dedication to the health industry and encourage women to hold senior leadership positions,” said Sandra Soares Costa, co-founder and chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Sabin Group. “Our actions must inspire the business community, mobilize society for diversity and inclusion, and, above all, value women in the corporate environment.“

Receiving the Visionary Award for Strategic Leadership is Wendy Kei, board chair of both Ontario Power Generation Inc. (OPG) and NFI Group Inc. (TSX: NFI).

“I am privileged to join so many inspiring past honourees of this award,” said Kei. “As the Board Chair for OPG and NFI Group, I strive to lead with authenticity and empathy every day. These values have guided my efforts to diversify leadership, drive growth, and mentor the next generation of female leaders. I am proud to be helping redefine what is possible.”

Moncler Group, a luxury fashion retailer, will receive the award for Leadership and Governance of a Public Company.

“We are thrilled to honor this year’s recipients of the 2024 Visionary Awards,” said Jennifer Reynolds, WCD’s CEO. “Each recipient demonstrates excellence in corporate governance, sustainable business performance, and in their commitment to diversity in their boardrooms and executive teams.”

This year’s selection of honorees were chosen by WCD’s Visionary Awards Selection Committee, a group of twelve members representing all regions around the globe, based on the recipients’ continued commitment and efforts in their recognition areas.

“This year’s award winners are being honored for dedicated advocacy of diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as advancing positive social and environmental change,” said Lucy Pamboukdjian and Jennifer Sondergaard, co-chairs of the 2024 Visionary Awards Committee.
