At the Women Corporate Directors Foundation, we foster leadership and a global community of trust and collaborative action. Now more than ever, it’s important that we all come together to support the people of Ukraine.

Ukraine has been on the frontline of a violent war for more than three weeks. It is defending not only its territorial integrity but more importantly, the democracy and freedom that many of us enjoy and often take for granted. As a human, it is beyond difficult to continue to witness Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with the fierce attacks on civilians and the utter destruction of the country’s infrastructure. Additionally, we are witnessing Europe’s largest and fastest-growing refugee crisis since WWII – more than two million people have already crossed the border, seeking refuge in what they hope to be safe havens. While we do not know how long the invasion will continue, we do know the devastation will be felt for years, and likely generations to come.

An ever-growing list of companies have ceased all operations in Russia, and as the premier global organization of women directors, we ask you to consider supporting the Ukrainian people either through the actions of the companies for which you serve as a director or through a personal donation to a reputable humanitarian aid group.

One action from each of us can have a profound impact on stopping the warfare, addressing the humanitarian crisis, and ultimately, protecting lives.

As we take a stand, we join so many others in hoping for a more peaceful and sustainable future for everyone.
